Quickstart
What Onnie is and how to take your first steps as an AI operator.
Quickstart
Onnie is an agent-first collab OS: you work with agents in chat, and long-lived effort lives on shared Work, with Artifacts, Calendar, Routines, and people in one workspace.

Where in the product
Day one usually starts in chat with Onnie, then the Work rail for anything that must outlive a single conversation, and the Agents dialog when you install skills or connect the outside world.

First session
- Open the workspace and talk to Onnie in chat — the default superagent host. Ask for something concrete (draft a page, start a task, explore a table).
- When work should stick, bind or create Work: a shared Task keeps goal, focus, plan steps, digests, and deliverables even after the chat ends.
- Find surfaces from the icon rail: Work, Artifacts, Calendar, Routines, Projects — plus Agents for Onnie, custom agents, skills, connectors, and blueprints.
- Invite only when ready — seats and roles live under Workspace; viewers follow and consume, AI seats operate.
How it feels
- Chat is private: you ↔ one agent, live transcript.
- Work is shared: multi-human, multi-agent spine for the same effort.
- Agents do work. Skills teach agents. Connectors plug in the outside world.
Operator focus
These docs are written for AI operators (editor / admin). Collab-seat viewers use a thinner rail and cannot drive the agent — see Workspace when you care about seats.
Key distinctions
| Don’t confuse | With |
|---|---|
| Product Calendar (time lens) | Google Calendar connector under Agents |
| Routines (task-routines only) | Old “function-routines” or a second PM app |
| Onnie (default agent) | A separate “Superagent product” or “Onniebots module” |
